Lowrance Releases Gen-4 HDS ‘Carbon’ Series

Lowrance’s HDS Carbon is the company’s latest new high-performance addition to its HDS series of fishfinders/chartplotters. Available in 12-, nine- and seven-inch models, the units offer dual core processing power, a new multi-touch SolarMAX HD screen, dual channel CHIRP and Network Dual Sounder to a long list of other advanced features.
Canadian anglers in the market for a ‘want-it-all’ integrated system will find the model offers a processor that can smoothly drive its high-tech capabilities, such as StructureScan 3D with SideScan and DownScan Imaging; dual channel CHIRP sonar; StructureMap; Broadband Radar and SiriusXM Weather Chart Overlay. The dual core processor also allows anglers to switch between applications and simultaneously view independent sonar feeds with ease.

The series offers Bluetooth control of multiple Power-Pole shallow water anchors and Bluetooth audio streaming from the SonicHub 2 marine entertainment system.

Other HDS Carbon features include built-in C-MAP Insight mapping with enhanced coverage of coastal and inland waters, a 10 Hz internal GPS antenna, and compatibility with a wide selection of optional cartography.

HDS Carbon also supports radar, SmartSteer control of Motorguide Xi5 trolling motors and Lowrance Outboard pilot, and offers full engine data integration via compatibility with Mercury’s VesselView Link.

Depending on package, the HDS-7 Carbon ranges from US $1,249 to US $2,099; the HDS-9 Carbon ranges from US $2,049 to US $2,899; and the HDS-12 Carbon ranges from US $3,149 to US $3,999.
