It’s peak boating season and as Canada’s 6 million boaters take to the water, their soundtrack is what will help create some of their most memorable times on the water. That’s why Discover Boating announced today its picks for top boating songs, as well as the launch of a series of activity-themed playlists on DiscoverBoating.ca to get boaters rocking whether wakeboarding, cruising, sailing or fishing.

 

Boating enthusiasts can sample songs and purchase mp3 files for their own on-the-water mixes through the iTunes playlists, as well as suggest songs for future Discover Boating playlists.

 

“There’s nothing better than enjoying  a sunny day out on a boat with good friends and great music – it’s what so many boaters love about summer," says Tracey Hart, marketing manager for  Discover Boating Canada. “We included some of the most popular songs from a variety of artists and genres, all of which illustrate why boating and music go hand-in-hand. The wind in your hair, sun on your face, surrounded by friends and family – boating and music both provide an escape and when combined create an unbeatable on-the-water experience.”

 

Discover Boating surveyed a network of boating experts and people who love life on the water to select some of the most popular songs about—and best enjoyed while—boating. Listed in alphabetical order by song title, here are Discover Boating’s top boating songs:
